5 Reasons To Test Drive the New Grand Cherokee L

Jeep has a new Grand Cherokee, and it’s bigger with more passenger seating than the regular Grand Cherokee. The all-new Grand Cherokee L has three rows of seats, a new exterior design with sculpted lines, and a tapered roof to make it more aerodynamic. This new Grand Cherokee has new features, off-road capabilities, and upgrades in the cabin. Take a look at these reasons to test drive the new Grand Cherokee L.

1. The Expanded Interior Space and Features

The Grand Cherokee L is longer than the Grand Cherokee and has three rows of seats. With seating for up to seven and more space than ever, this new Jeep provides best-in-class second-row legroom. Standard cabin features start with dual-zone automatic climate control, but four-way automatic climate control is an available option in the higher trims. It has tip-and-slide second-row captain’s chairs, and bumping up to the Limited adds Capri leather upholstery and memory settings for the driver’s seat.

Nappa leather comes in the Overland, which also has power-folding second and third-row seats, ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting with five different color options.

2. The Exterior Look

The base Grand Cherokee L Laredo has automatic headlights, a roof rack, power-adjustable side mirrors, and LED reflector headlights with integrated daytime running lights. The Limited adds LED fog lights and a power liftgate, while the Overland adds a foot-activated power liftgate, approach-lit door handles, and an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror.

3. The Capability

The base engine for the Grand Cherokee L is a 3.6-liter V-6 with 290 horsepower, but you can opt for a 5.7-liter V-8 that puts out 357 horsepower. The V-6 comes with rear-wheel drive and offers four-wheel drive. The Hemi comes standard with Jeep’s Quadra-Trac I four-wheel drive and can take the Grand Cherokee L over rough roads and even tackle some off-road terrain.

The Overland comes with the Quadra-Trac II active four-wheel drive system with hill-descent control and a two-speed transfer case, and the Summit has Quadra-Drive II four-wheel drive system. When equipped, the Grand Cherokee L can tow up to 7,200 pounds.

4. The Technology

The Grand Cherokee L comes with the latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system and a 10.1-inch display screen that houses the 8.4-inch touchscreen. If you bump up to the Summit, you can use the entire 10.1-inch touchscreen. The base trim also has a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster Type-A and Type-C USB ports, Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, and Amazon Alexa.

5. The Safety Systems

Every Grand Cherokee L comes with a long list of standard driver aids. These include adaptive cruise control, an active lane management system, a blind-spot monitor, full-speed forward collision warning, active braking assist, pedestrian detection, Jeep’s LaneSense lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. It also has ParkSense rear parking cameras and a rearview camera. Rain-sensing wipers come in the Overland, and the Summit comes with drowsy driver detection, Active Driving Assist, Highway Assist, and a parallel and perpendicular parking assist feature.

The new Grand Cherokee L has extra seating in the cabin, upscale features, and more safety technology than ever.
