1. Noccalula Falls Park and Campground

Gadsden is the home of this breathtaking 90-foot waterfall over the Black Creek. Beyond its natural beauty, Noccalula Falls Park offers a wide range of amenities like a miniature golf course, a petting zoo, walking paths, hiking and mountain biking trails, a swimming pool, laundry facilities, a wedding chapel, a playground, and picnic pavilions. The park also has a Pioneer Village where you can explore how people lived in this region in the past.

Noccalula Falls Park and Campground is located at 1500 Noccalula Rd. It’s open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October. You can also reserve one of the park’s 120 campsites, including everything from primitive tent sites to cabins.

2. Coosa Landing

This popular Gadsden bass fishing spot offers a four-lane boat access ramp to Coosa River, a spacious parking lot, and a weigh-in station for your catches. Coosa Landing is a frequent location for local, state, and national fishing tournaments. It has a bait shop, restrooms, and access to the Riverwalk Park, with a boardwalk that spans about a mile along the river and provides a connection to piers and restaurants.

Coosa Landing is located at 200 Lake St. It’s open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

3. First Friday in Gadsden

The town closes downtown Broad St to auto traffic on the first Friday of each month from April through October for a community-wide street fair. You can enjoy snacks from food trucks, shop from local vendors, and check out cool classic cars and motorcycles. The five-block stretch also has a different musician performing on each block.

4. 127 Yard Sale

Did you know the world’s longest yard sale starts right in Gadsden? You can shop through about 690 miles and six states when you attend the 127 Yard Sale, an annual event that started in 1987 and is also called the 127 Corridor Sale.

This year, the 127 Yard Sale will occur from August 3 through 6 with more than 2,200 vendors. Gadsden has two different stops on the route with 25 vendors each: one at Noccalula Falls Park at 1500 Noccalula Rd and one at an open field on 2266 Tabor Rd.
